Today’s technology evolves at a breakneck speed, allowing for more rapid development and advancement and speeding up the rate of change. However, technological trends and developing technologies are not the only things that are changing. People are also changing their perspectives on what to expect from technologies. Dengan mendengar perkataan teknologi, istilah Metaverse comes to one’s mind.

Istilah "metaverse" pertama kali digunakan dalam Neil Stevenson’s 1982 novel, Snow Crash. Stevenson’s metaverse was a virtual place where characters could go to escape a dreary totalitarian reality.

Komuniti digital, taman dan kelab akan muncul dalam satu dunia maya atau merentasi banyak. Sesetengah individu percaya terdapat metaverse yang wujud bersama dunia sebenar dan mengandungi tindanan realiti tambahan. Pelabur seperti Jenama Animoca dan lain-lain telah pun melaburkan wang Berjuta-juta ke dalam Metaverses seperti Tanah tinggi, Kotak Pasir, Decentraland, Gala, Axie dan Infiniti.
Barbados telah menunjukkan minat untuk menubuhkan kedutaan di metaverse, menunjukkan populariti tanggapan itu.

Yang pasti kalau ada duit nak buat, syarikat besar suka Microsoft, Apple, Qualcomm, Nvidia, Valve, Epic, HTC dan Apple, akhirnya perlu memasuki metaverse. Microsoft, Meta, and other FAANG companies are all working on new methods to interact online. In the next years, you’ll hear a lot more about the metaverse.
