Sometimes, creativity seeks you, sometimes you seek creativity.
However, blessed are those who seek creativity and creativity seeks them.

The BharatBox is the Indian arm of The Sandbox, headed by CEO Karan Keswani who in collaboration with Sebastien Borget, Co-founder and COO of The Sandbox and Prajnyasis Biswal (PB) of Brinc are perhaps the most important individuals in the Metaverse Ecosystem in Indian and South Asian Subcontinent.

What happens under the leadership of The BharatBox will most definitely reverberate across the ecosystem and the industry at large.

It is a testament that The Sandbox under Borget’s leadership has recognised one of the most important aspects of a market like india is the value proposition and the price point and they have rightfully lowered their land prices for individuals of more modest means par take in the Metaverse ecosystem vis-a-vis BollyVerse by The Sandbox India.

The Sandbox land prices now currently hover around the $613.59 mark as of writing this article as seen here in the secondary market. Still maintaining value but significantly more affordable than $30,000/Land which used to be once the entry price point.

Indian’s have always been flag bearers of leadership and innovation whether it’s in the IT and Tech Sector or the Entertainment and Bollywood sector.

So, it’s no surprise that when The Sandbox thinks of making an entry into the Indian Market that they do it with Bollywood’s Shemaroo Entertainment, Eros Enterainments and Hungama among others.

One thing eerily lacking is The Sandbox‘s peers in the Metaverse, good for Sandbox, but concerning for the sector as a whole. One couldn’t miss noticing that Upland Metaverse,  Decentraland, Gala Games, Axie Infinity, and the other Metaverse flag bearers accross the world have no presence in the world’s largest democracy, the world’s most populated nation and the world’s fifth largest economy – India.

So, as The BharatBox says Namaste India under the trilateral leadership of Borget, Keswani and PB – Metaverse Early adopters are very excited but concerned to the fact that are they looking at a echo chamber of vast emptiness.

The Sandbox and many of their peers are Animoca Brands portfolio companies including Upland Metaverse, Decentraland, Axie Infinity, Star Atlas and many more.

It remains unclear to be seen whether Sandbox has birthed the Nuclear Arms Race between Metaverse Companies to conquer marketshare in he world’s most populated nation. However, one thing is crystal clear that The Sandbox will benefit immensely from a first mover advantage along with a local on ground team in kickstart to the first of many India specific Metaverse initiatives by the Sandbox India (The BharatBox).

Alot of Early Adopters and Discord Servers have been rife with the impact and implications of these changes, the most important of which is that every few 100 kilometers you go in India the food, the culture, the language, the dialect and the aspirations and inspirations change in India. This will prove both and advantage and a challenge for any Metaverse company trying to conquer the Indian Metaverse Market.

It’s a grave Faux Pas that the Metaverses have not yet cemented their entry into India in a more ingrained way like The Sandbox India (The BharatBox) has, but this may very well be a war drums beating for an intense battle for the Metaverse Big Tech Companies to finally focus their attention to the Indian Metaverse Market for a battle of Market Share Control.

It remains unclear whether or if indigenous competition from local Indian Big Tech’s such a Jio, Tata, Airtel and others will jump on the bandwagon to compete or join forces with the global Metaverse Big Tech.

We reached out the Sebastien Borget, Co-founder and COO of The Sandbox for a comment on what made him pursue this BollyVerse initiative he told us “As we partner with Shemaroo, one of India’s foremost media platforms, The Sandbox is thrilled to bring the vibrant world of Bollywood to the open metaverse. Talking on the launch of BharatVerse Sebastien Borget finally added “The launch of Bharatverse, in collaboration with 25 renowned Indian entities from Bollywood and beyond – including Shemaroo, Eros, Hungama, and ventures like CoinDCX, IndiGG, Kratos Studios, and the wellness-focused GOQii platform – represents a monumental leap. Our rendition of the epic Mahabharata in Mythoverse, alongside cultural icons such as Puneet Rajkumar, exemplifies our commitment to establishing a robust Indian footprint in the metaverse.”
